Black Alps is a joint initiative between the University of Applied Sciences in Business and Engineering of the Canton of Vaud (HEIG-VD) and the technology park Y-PARC, both located in Yverdon-les-Bains. It is the result of more than 10 years of experience in organizing cybersecurity events. Started from scratch, it has ramped up to one of the most-renown in the field in Switzerland.

In 2021, due to the sanitary situation, the Black Alps committee decided to organize a special summer edition around a barbecue. Indeed, we are a community event and we think our added value is to gather the community by creating crucial in-person interactions. The event took place on Thursday 23rd of Septembre 2021 in Cheyres (close to Yverdon-les-Bains). It was a special edition with short talks and a barbecue-dinner. It attracted 150 participants, which was our limit.
